Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Art History at the University of York and Director of the York Glaziers Trust, Chair of the British National Committee of Corpus Vitrearum, focusing on the history and conservation of stained glass, mainly medieval and 19th-century.

She has conducted research on the architecture and stained glass of various eras, specializing in the history and conservation of medieval and neo-Gothic stained glass. She is particularly interested in the interpenetration of arts and crafts in the history of stained glass restoration in Great Britain.
